Get ready, as marine monster thriller The Meg, is back for another bite! Meg 2: The Trench is currently filming at Warner Bros. Studios, with Jason Statham returning as navy diver Jonas Taylor and Bingbing Li as oceanographer Suyin, who in the first instalment battled an enormous pre-historic shark otherwise known as the 'Megalodon'. The plot is currently under wraps, but expect big thrills, big effects and even bigger monsters....
Action comedy Sumotherhood is filming in Hackney over the course of February and March, directed by and starring award-winning actor Adam Deacon (Anuvahood) and cast by 2020 Film London Lodestar Heather Basten. Absolutely Fabulous' Jennifer Saunders, Black Panther's Danny Sapani and musician turned film cameo regular Ed Sheeran are all set to star in the film showcasing and celebrating life in East London.
Filming is also underway on BBC's three-part political drama Stonehouse. Written by John Preston, author of A Very English Scandal, the series tells the bizarre true-story of former politician John Stonehouse, who tried and failed to fake his own death. Various on-going productions are also still filming in London. Make sure to keep you're eye out for the feature film edition of BBC TV detective drama Luther, recently filming scenes around Piccadilly Circus, and the fifth series of Netflix's critically acclaimed regal drama The Crown in South London.
On the silver and small screens
Kenneth Branagh reprises his role as Agatha Christie's famous fictional detective Hercule Poirot in the newest film adaption of Death on the Nile, now in cinemas. Having filmed scenes at Longcross Studios, Kenneth Branagh is joined by the likes of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther) who are amongst those vacationing on a boat down the Nile as part of a honeymoon celebration. However when a murder on board takes place, it's up to Poirot to solve it.
From solving murders, to committing them... the highly anticipated fourth and final series of BBC's Killing Eve is set to air late February, directly after the US premiere. Filming scenes in the capital, Villanelle and Eve return one last time to confront their dangerous, borderline romantic obsession with one another, with the series promised to be one to remember.
Sticking to romance, series two of rom-com Starstruck is currently airing on BBC Three. Set and filmed in the capital, Starstruck follows Jessie, a young woman living in London who gets romantically wrapped up with a film star - unknown to her at the time - and has to navigate the complexities of not only dating, but dating someone famous.
Finally, Apple TV+ crime drama Suspicion is now streaming. When the son of a US businesswoman is kidnapped from a New York hotel, a handful of seemingly ordinary people also at the hotel that night become the main suspects. But whilst pleading their innocence and avoiding the authorities, who is really telling the truth?
