The New Black Film Collective XPO 2026
FLAMIN Animations | Games London Showcase
3:30 - 5pm, 24 March 2026
The Studio
Rich Mix, London
Address: 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6LA
Hosted by The New Black Film Collective, FLAMIN Animations presents a work-in-progress showcase with artists David Adeyemi, Jasmine Hewitt, Brandon Saunders and Lysander Wong. In the session, the fifth cohort of artists selected for FLAMIN Animations will be sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the exciting new animated films developed as part of the programme.
Ranging across CGI, stop motion, painted frame-by-frame and 2D animation, the artists' projects include a magical-realist story of migration to a psychological portrait of a never-ending dinner party.
The FLAMIN Animations showcase at TNB XPO 26 will be followed by a session with Games London and developer Sam Scaife, who will be presenting a behind-the-scenes look at his new game Remote Control, from 4:45pm - 5:15pm. Watch a trailer, here.
FLAMIN Animations 2025-2026 Projects
David Adeyemi, EARfB0UND 2 ME10
In an Afrofuturist retelling of the artist’s ancestral roadmap of displacement from Nigeria, EARF0LUWA crash lands in London before finally arriving in Kent, where they discover a place to plant new roots.
Jasmine Hewitt, Seat at the Table
At an endless floating dinner party, two friends, Rei, eager and excitable, Aliyah reluctant and aloof, search for a seat at the table; both desperate to find a place to belong in their own way.
Brandon Saunders, Lapidary
Awaking in an oppressive castle that references the colonial architecture of the Cayman Islands, a knight tries to escape the labyrinthine interior. After a psychedelic vision of African fractals, he discovers a dancing spirit and the possibility of a free world.
Lysander Wong, Lionhearted
Inspired by lion dancing and the rich tradition of Chinese crafts, Lionhearted together ink painting, paper cutting, shadow-puppetry and embroidery to tell a story of transformation and self-discovery.
Now in its fifth year, FLAMIN Animations is a commissioning programme for early-career Black and global majority artists living in England, presented by Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN). FLAMIN Animations is presented in partnership with award-winning animation studio Blinkink.
The showcase is hosted by The New Black Film Collective as part of TNB XPO 26, an event celebrating Black excellence in film and TV.
