Lysander Wong
Lysander Wong is a Hong Kong animator and artist based in London. A recent graduate of MA Character Animation at Central Saint Martins, he works predominantly in paper cutout, mixed media, and other stop-motion techniques, aiming to connect the visual and physical to evoke a sense of tangibility and fragility. His films often investigate the ways we see, navigate, and inhabit the world, exploring identity and the body through a queer and trans perspective. He also co-founded the creative collective bugbyte, running workshops, screenings, and other events with a focus on animation, craft, and sustainability.
Wong’s previous work include OverThreaded (2024), a commission from London International Animation Festival for their Abstract Showcase programme. The film has since screened at various festivals including Vienna Shorts and Anibar Animation Festival. His graduation film Foreign Bodies (2025) is an exploration of the horror of having a body, of unbelonging.
