Find out what's filming in London right now. A new Paddington film has started filming alongside some other exciting film and TV productions. We've also got a list of fresh film and TV content releasing this August that filmed in London. Filming on Paddington 3 is underway in London! With production also set to take place in Colombia and Peru, the third film in the series, titled Paddington in Peru, sees our favourite, adventurous bear head back to the South American jungle to retrace his roots. Paddington bear is a London icon, visiting many iconic locations in the city throughout the first two films. These included: Film London Premiere Location, The Natural History Museum, Portobello Road Market, Camden Market, Primrose Hill and Maida Vale Underground station. More London film locations are on the way in the newest film, and we're also excited for Paddington's return to the jungle, where new characters played by the likes of Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas could feature. Other cast news includes the introduction of Emily Mortimer to the Brown family, replacing Sally Hawkins as Mrs Mary Brown.
This month, the upcoming Sky and Peacock original series, The Day of the Jackal, starring Academy Award Winner, Eddie Redmayne will also be filming in London. The series is an exciting remake of Frederick Forsynth’s novel and Universal Pictures’ 1973 film adaptation directed by the legendary Fred Zinnemann. The new spy thriller will follow Jackal as he is hired to kill the former president of France, Charles de Gaulle. Fans of the original novel and film can look forward to a modern take on this classic story, with an international shoot now underway, intended for an action-packed episodic release.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is also slated to start production this month in London. The iconic SEGA franchise was brought to life on the silver screen in 2020 with actor-comedian Ben Schwartz voicing the titular character, in director Jeff Fowler's debut feature. The pair are expected to return for the latest addition to the series, with further cast members such as Idris Elba and Jim Carrey yet to be confirmed.

We're so excited to see Adjani Salmon's Dreaming Whilst Black release on BBC iPlayer! Salmon is a Film London Lodestar 2022, a BAFTA-winning writer-director, and was recently awarded the Menelik Shabazz legacy award at the UK Windrush Caribbean Film Festival. The endlessly-talented filmmaker initially created Dreaming Whilst Black as a web series, before working with BBC and A24 to turn the show into a six-part TV series. The remade series follows Kwabena, an aspiring filmmaker stuck in a dead-end office job, desperately looking to get his script 'Jamaica Road' in front film and TV industry execs. Tracing the Black British experience throughout its narrative, Dreaming Whilst Black is a fresh and hilarious new show that you don't want to miss! Episodes were filmed throughout London, with on-location shoots taking place in Shoreditch and Enfield; which other London boroughs can you spot in the series? Even more Film London alumni worked with Salmon on the series: episodes 2 and 3 were directed by Film London Lodestar 2019, Koby Adom, and the show's producer, Gina Lyons, was a Film London Lodestar in 2023!
Heart of Stone is out on Netflix on August 11. The global spy thriller starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan filmed on-location in Holborn and at Shepperton Studios, located just outside the capital. Directed by London-born Tom Harper, Heart of Stone follows a lone intelligence operative, Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot), who is forced to navigate an international peacekeeping organisation that faces an existential threat from a mysterious hacker. Head to Netflix to catch a glimpse of London on-screen in this thrilling ride of global espionage and high-stakes action.
Up next is Apple TV's Invasion which is releasing a second season this August! The Sci-Fi series explores the dark and tense psychological effects of a sudden alien invasion of Earth. The first season of Invasion filmed on-location in London, transforming Greenwich Park, Blackheath and the Royal Naval College into a post-apocalyptic, anarchic vision of London. The new season looks to drop us right back into an intense battle for the Earth, as the fight against the alien invaders grips the world. Having filmed at OMA:X Studios in Enfield, North London, we can't wait to see another epic series made in the capital.
Missing Wimbledon after last month's thrilling competition? Don't miss out on Fifteen-Love on Prime Video this month, a new drama series exploring the complicated relationship between a tennis prodigy and her coach. When the promising young star finds her career dwindling into obscurity, allegations are brought against her former coach that rock the world of tennis. The series is set in Wimbledon with further filming taking place throughout the capital. Fifteen-Love is out now on Prime Video.
Finally, Jason Statham is making another big splash on the silver screen this month with Meg 2: The Trench. The colossal sequel drags us back into the deep seas in a battle against history's fiercest predator: the Megalodon. Scenes were filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, on the outskirts of London. The film is out this week on August 4, so head to your local cinema if you can, to catch another blockbuster this summer!
