Tignes' draws upon the culture of the ski resort webcam (the non-stop, unmediated broadcast of chair-lift stations, ski runs and vistas) to create a landscape film that is simultaneously banal and sublime.

The video presents five 'webcam' views of the French resort of Tignes, a late 1960s construction set high above the alpine treeline.

Out of season and no longer the fixation of winter sports enthusiasts the webcams appear neglected. We watch views through an accumulation of rain, dirt and spiders' webs. All however is far from accidental, as life, nature and neglect has been choreographed with precision.
