Film London and Apulia Film Commission have launched a new scheme for co-production-ready filmmakers eager to hone their skills, learn from industry experts and pitch their ideas to leading international financiers.

The Development and Co-production Lab offers eight filmmaking teams – up to four each from London and Italy – the chance to take part in an intensive five-day ‘bootcamp’.

Based on our intensive Microwave training model, the week will offer support and one-to-one mentoring to help whip scripts into shape and guide promising new stories towards the big screen. The Lab will culminate with a pitching session in front of international financiers, including the Apulia Film Commission.

The project is specifically geared towards feature films budgeted at €1m and below from filmmaking teams who are seeking co-production opportunities and keen to make use of the creative sector tax reliefs afforded by both territories.

How to apply

Submissions from teams outside of London or outside of Italy will not be considered.

UK submitted projects must be set or shot in Italy, or with a strong Italian flavour. UK projects set or shot wholly in the UK will not be eligible.

Italian submitted projects must be set or shot in the UK, or with a strong UK flavour. Italian projects set or shot wholly in Italy will not eligible.

Flights, accommodation and travel costs will be covered for Italian filmmaking teams by the Apulia Film Commission.
