Alternative Venues London (AVL) is the venue hire department within the Greater London Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA). It is a non-profit organisation providing funding to support Reserves and Cadets, by hiring out facilities within the RFCA estate.

With 39 Reserve Forces and 75 Cadet sites spread across London, AVL offer an array of venues with flexible spaces for all types of production and filming needs. Our military locations spread around London are extremely versatile, safe, and unique, with a touch of history.

Whether it’s a long-term hire for a film or TV drama or short-term, one-off hire for a commercial shoot, a simple room to set up for a stills photoshoot or a gated area for unit base purposes, AVL bring an array of facilities that can meet various different location briefs. Types of booking also include rehearsal, fashion shows, and production office space and you can choose from an array of spaces such as large halls, garages, changing rooms, toilets, dining rooms, rooftops, classrooms, basements/cellars, outside space and many more!
