FILM LONDON LODESTARS: Theo James Krekis
WHAT WE SAY
We have known the indomitable Theo since we developed and funded a short he wrote back in 2015 (Breathe) and his passion for storytelling impressed us from the first. He came straight back with projects as a director, including the brilliant Pram Snatcher—a clear indicator that he is ready to take on long form drama for the big screen.
BIO
Theo is a Greek/British writer and director, whose short film Pram Snatcher was commissioned by BFI NETWORK and Film London.
His debut feature film, Lethean, is currently in development with BBC Films and Try Hard Films. In television, his original six-part series, Blossom, has been commissioned by the BBC and is being produced by Clerkenwell Films (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F**king World), with Theo set to direct.
He was selected for Channel 4’s 4Stories scheme, where he directed a road movie for the BAFTA-winning anthology series On the Edge. For this, he was nominated for Best New Director at the Edinburgh Television Awards.
All three of his short films—Pram Snatcher, Memoirs of a Geeza, and Mangas—premiered at the BFI London Film Festival over a span of four years. He is an alum of Network@LFF, Edinburgh Film Festival’s Talent Lab Connects, and the BBC Writersroom. He is represented by Independent Talent Group for film and television and Knucklehead for commercials and music videos.
