Cole Morris
Cole Morris is a 25-year-old neuro-diverse multi-media artist of Caribbean and British descent living in Sheffield. He uses shadow puppetry, film, illustration, sound, photography and animation to explore the black British experience through myth, histories and archive materials. Cole creates otherworldly stories from the familiar materials of paper, found objects, sound, and photography. His creative practice is rooted in experimentation and pushing the limits of these materials, driven by a fascination with early pioneers of cinema.
Cole’s recent three-channel video installation My Shoes for the Blacks (2026) was commissioned by Wentworth Woodhouse, Rotherham. His film Hunter 77: The Joe Phillips Story (2025) received the Director’s Award, Liverpool Migration Matters Festival, following its presentation at the Dig Where You Stand Biennial 2024 in Sheffield.
