As the 77th Festival de Cannes draws to a close this week, here's a round up of Film London's activity.
The UK Pavilion was home to a series of events and meetings, and members of the Film London team were there to fly the flag for the London film industry.
We teamed up with Roma Lazio for a UK and Italian producers event that saw experienced and emerging producers sharing their skills and expertise. Chair of Film London Daniel Battsek joined to speak at the event alongside Film London CEO, Adrian Wootton.
Supporting talent is a huge part of what Film London does and we were delighted to host a Talent Mixer during the festival so that our alumni could connect and reconnect with each other. The Event Partner was friend and sponsor of Film London – chartered accountants and business advisors, Alliotts, and our thanks go to them for their support.
We were proud to have been shortlisted for a Screen Global Production Award for the Grid Project, our initiative which supplies renewable energy to productions in the capital. Sadly we did not take home the award on this occasion but we were delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of those working behind the scenes of world class production sets, locations and studios.
During the festival we also announced that applications for Film London’s Production Finance Market are now open.
Connecting thousands of filmmakers and financiers, for over 17 years the Market has been instrumental in instigating introductions and securing finance for some truly great projects.
We were delighted to also take the opportunity during the festival to meet with some of our international friends and partners to continue creative collaborations.
