The British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) 2024 longlist was unveiled this week, and we're delighted to see a number of Film London alumni included.
London Calling alumni Amrou Al-Kadhi and Christopher Andrews are both long listed for the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director. Production Finance Market New Talent Strand alumnus Sasha Nathwani's Last Swim is also longlisted.
The Best Debut Screenwriter category included two London Calling alumni: Christoper Andrews and Sandhya Suri.
Grand Theft Hamlet, which is a Production Finance Market (PFM) New Talent Strand alumnus and the featured case study at this year's PFM, is longlisted for Best Debut Director – Feature Documentary for Pinny Grylls and Sam Crane.
Multiple Film London alumni are longlisted in the Breakthrough Producer category.
London Calling alumni Balthazar De Ganay and James Bowsher, Savannah James-Bayly, Jacob Swan Hyam, Jeremy Warmsley and Chiara Ventura are all nominated, alongside Short Film Fund alumnus Helen Gladders, andPFM New Talent Strand alumnus Nisha Mullea and Rebecca Wolff
