Last Thursday (16 October), we had the pleasure of hosting our annual BFI London Film Festival edition of the Film Hub London Exhibitors' Breakfast, this time at the newly renovated Garden cinema.

We were delighted to welcome BFI Curator, Kitty Robertson, to introduce a screening of new shorts commissioned by BFI’s Our Screen Heritage programme, which are now available to book. The shorts focused on are Song of the Suburbs and Threads of Memory.

Also from the BFI, their UK Wide Audiences Manager Jonny Courtney, discussed opportunities for exhibitors' through the BFI Audiences Project Fund. Jonny also discussed the ways in which work they do in the Audiences team supports and contributes to the wider sector, as well as an overview of the Escapes scheme.

ICO Business and Projects Manager, Duncan Carson, presented om Uncommon Voices: Exploring Class in New British Cinema, a programme of shorts starting a conversation on how working class filmmakers are capturing working class experience in Britain today. Duncan discussed why class matters, a new way to connect with working class audiences, and the other ways the ICO is here to help.

As always, we wrapped up the session with Film Hub London updates from Film London's Paul Bowman.

It was fantastic to see so many Exhibitors from across Film Hub London attend on the morning, and help celebrate the exhibition side of the London Film Festival.

Exhibitors' Breakfast will return in the new year, keep an eye on the Film London website for more information.
