Film London Connect Mentees

Applications for Cohort 7 of Film London’s Connect Mentoring Programme will soon be open!
Mentoring can be a powerful way to find support for people who want to focus on their career development and make decisions about their next steps. It can genuinely be a life-changing experience for the mentees and mentors.
To be eligible for the programme you must be aged 18-24 and be a new or early film industry entrant. Please note too that we will be prioritising applications from individuals identifying as being from global majority and/or under-represented groups including disabled, neurodivergent and working class individuals.
As a mentee you will be offered training, advice, guidance and access to a suite of resources by the mentoring team and we will work with you throughout the length of the 6 month programme.
Please be advised, that this is an unpaid opportunity, which will require a minimum of six hours over a six month period, per mentee and mentor pairing. Please note too that at this time we are providing mentoring for all crew roles apart from writers and/or directors.

Applications will open from Friday 12 December 10am via this application link.
Application deadline 12pm Friday 19 December and you must also complete the Equality Monitoring questions at the end of the application form.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews by Thursday 8 January 2026.

We are excited to be running our Film London Connect Mentoring Programme again!
Mentee applications will open on Wednesday 3 September at 10am. The programme will run from September 2025 - March 2026.
What is Film London Connect?
A programme designed to facilitate a professional mentee-mentor relationship between those aspiring to enter or progress within the film industry (the mentees) and our amazing established industry creatives (the mentors). Please note too that at this time we are providing mentoring for all crew roles apart from writers/directors.
Mentorship available in the following areas:
- Production e.g. Line Producer, Production Co-ordinator, AD, etc.
- Hair & Makeup
- Art Department e.g. Production Designer, Art Director, Props, etc.
- Camera and Lighting Department e.g Cinematographer, Gaffer, Spark, Grip, Camera Operator, etc.
- Sound Department e.g. Sound Designer, Boom Operator, Production Sound, Composer, etc.
- Post Production e.g. Editor, VFX, Colour and Grading, etc.
- Animation
- Exhibition and Distribution
- Miscellaneous e.g. Script Supervisor, Locations Manager, access co-ordinator, Intimacy Co-ordinator, Film Finance, Accountancy, etc.
What is on offer?
As a mentee you will be offered training, advice, guidance and access to resources by the mentoring team, and we will work with you throughout the length of the 6-month programme. We aim to match with you a mentor that shares your interests and the industry knowledge and skillset you are looking to gain. The mentors’ role will be to share insight, information, advice, and guidance with you the mentee, to help you to achieve your goal(s). We will also provide support for mentees who have access requirements to participate in the scheme.

Among our current cohort we’ve seen some really positive results with our mentees developing professional relationships, receiving impactful career guidance and in some cases even some practical experience, so we’d delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to more of our network!
