A Free and Anonymous Monument Video
A Free and Anonymous Monument is a multi-screen film installation, commissioned by BALTIC in partnership with Film & Video Umbrella, which examines the process of re-invention undergone by former industrial areas in North East England through the use of architecture and town planning. One of the six sites selected by the artists for this piece is the Apollo Pavillion in Peterlee, designed in 1958 by artist Victor Pasmore and one of the first examples of public architecture based upon the formal principles of a visual artist.
