The UK Asian Film Festival celebrates its opening night gala with a world premiere screening of Minimum, in which a newlywed immigrant finds herself insidiously kept captive by her mother-in-law after marrying a stranger over the phone.
Fauzia (Rumana Molla) moves to Belgium after marrying a stranger, Ali (Namit Das), ending up stuck in a house with her mother-in-law, Ruxana (Geetanjali Kulkarni), who is suspiciously tight-lipped about Ali and his whereabouts. This directorial debut from US-born, Belgian actor, Rumana Molla, is an enjoyable and touching drama with heartfelt humour.
