We’re excited to announce the return of The Games Sessions, in collaboration with Games London! This dynamic lab explores the evolving relationship between film and games, where game-making tools are revolutionizing cinematic storytelling.

We’ve talked a lot about Grand Theft Hamlet in the last year, so we thought we’d take a deeper look at how film and games continue to influence each other, shaping the way we create and experience stories. From game engines to machinima, we’ll hear from filmmakers integrating these technologies to redefine narrative-driven experiences and find new innovative ways to bring their stories to an audience.

Current guest speakers include;

  • Wayne Che Yip, Director, Amazon’s Primetime Emmy-nominated series, Fallout
  • Phil Rich, Partnerships and Innovations, BBC
  • Michael Stumpf & Robin Klengel, Filmmakers and Co-founders, Total Refusal, whose groundbreaking Hardly Working short won Best European Short at the European Film Awards, Best Direction at Locarno Film Festival, and many others.
  • Maja Bodenstein, Writer, Emmy-nominated and multi award-winning VR experience, The Pirate Queen

Additional speakers to be confirmed.

Join us as we explore how innovative methods and storytelling techniques are reshaping both industries. Whether you're a filmmaker or a games creative, this is your opportunity to push the boundaries of filmmaking and gain fresh insight into the games industry.

Our past guest speakers for The Games Sessions have included Sam Barlow (Her Story, Immortality), Jack Attridge (Flavourworks), Hannah Nicklin (Die Gute Fabrik) and Adam Butch & Anna Costello (Dead Man's Phone, Scriptic).
