Screen-time is about much more than linear storytelling, we all know that the film and TV industry competes with games creators in the attention economy. But as with many things, the lines are blurring: film and TV are becoming more interactive, and games are increasingly cinematic. This Lab will explore the increasingly exciting area where film and games meet, and help creatives understand how to bridge the two worlds.

Programmed in collaboration with Games London, The Games Sessions is for screenwriters and other storytellers who are interested in writing for games, or who have an idea for an interactive story and would like to understand how to find collaborators who can help bring it to the screen, whichever screen it’s for.

It will help writers understand the process of writing interactive story, and how to translate the language of the games industry. It will also ask what the games industry can gain from the story skills of film and TV writers.

We are very excited to be working with our Games London colleagues on this Lab, and hope that both fields will have much to learn from each other.
