Directed by Sergei Loznitsa, Donbass is a series of thirteen vignettes set against the backdrop of the fighting between Ukrainian government forces and Putin-backed Russian separatists in the mid-2010s, which unfolded throughout the entire south-eastern region of the country historically known as Donbas. As it turns out, the conflict was a prelude to Russia’s invasion of the entire country. The Castle Cinema presents a charity screening organised by No Bollocks Film Club, with the proceeds being donated to a charity to help Ukrainian refugees.
