Join us for the next BFI NETWORK Shorts School! A free online series of talks for emerging directors, writers and producers working towards a short form project and those interested in applying to the next round of the Short Film Fund.

We will also be talking about the Early Development Fund, which is now open. This supports writers in the very early stage of their development process, before having a script, to produce an initial treatment and related materials for a feature film idea (live action, immersive and animation fiction projects).

We’ll be announcing our guest speakers in the coming weeks.

There will be an in-person mixer event in the week (details TBC), for those who register, plus an online relaxed networking session where you can meet and connect with your peers and potential collaborators. The online networking session also includes Q&A roundtables with some of the speakers from the week and our Talent Executives.

Ahead of the next event, explore our collection of previous Shorts School sessions where we’ve chatted with filmmakers funded by BFI NETWORK and industry professionals on short filmmaking and the Early Development Fund.

26th - 29th October 2026, from 1pm each day (timings may be subject to change).

FREE TO ATTEND! (all session will take place on Zoom)
