The FAN Film Exhibition Fund (FEF) is now open.

Round 1: submit by 5pm, Friday 8 March 2024 for screening activity taking place between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025

Round 2: submit by 5pm, Friday 27 September 2024 for screening activity taking place between 1 November 2024 to 31 March 2025

The FAN Film Exhibition Fund awards funding from the BFI National Lottery to support a wide range of audience-facing activity, as part of the BFI’s Screen Culture 2033 strategy. 

FEF supports in-person screening events that bring audiences together for a communal viewing experience creating opportunities to develop inclusive audiences for a broad range of independent UK and international film, screen heritage and the wider moving image. We are especially interested in project proposals representing disabled audiences, young audiences, Black and Global Majority audiences, working-class audiences and projects that break down economic barriers.

Organisations will be able to apply for a maximum of £5,000 to cover costs such as event costs, marketing and outreach campaigns, access costs and other initiatives that has the potential to help them connect with new and diverse audiences.

The fund is open to Film Hub London members including cinemas, mixed arts centre, community cinemas, film societies, film festivals, touring operators and other film exhibition organisations.  You can find out more information about Film Hub London and becoming a member here.

If you wish to proceed you will need to submit a completed proposal and budget using the templates below. If you have access requirements that mean you need assistance with the process, you may be able to benefit from the BFI Access Support scheme.
