Crew Development Hub: Industry Progression Course

Skills

Film London, in Partnership with 60Forty Films, presents the Industry Progression Course, a two-day virtual course designed to support those with experience in the film and TV industry to elevate their careers. The course is as part of our Crew Development Hub (CDH), a multi-faceted training programme established in late 2024 with the core aim of nurturing and retaining talent within the screen industries.

The Industry Progression Course, as part of CDH, will span over a period of two days. Successful applicants will get the chance to connect with like-minded professionals at similar career levels across various disciplines within the industry. Together, they’ll build a network and gain invaluable insights from industry experts who will share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom.

The course will cover topics such as:

  • How to Network and Uphold Connections
  • Employability Tips (CVs, Applications, Interview etc)
  • Production Safety
  • Accessibility on Set
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Maximising your Strengths
  • How to navigate the industry
  • How to find your USP
...plus more areas added as confirmed

Course Dates:
The two-day course will be offered twice, and you can select any course that best suits your schedule. You may apply to as many courses as you’re available for, but please note that you must be available for both dates of the course(s) you choose.

Option 2:
Monday 31st March and Tuesday 1st April 2025

To be eligible for this course, you must:

  • Be aged 18+ (no upper age limit)
  • Have the right to live & work in the UK
  • Have a demonstrated interest in working in HETV
  • Have between 1 to 3 years (or 12 to 36 months non-consecutive) worth of experience in the Film and/or TV industry in one or more of the following; Scripted drama, Unscripted, Documentaries, Commercials, In house, High-End TV (HETV) or Features.
  • Have access to a device with Zoom functionality (as the course is interactive, having a working camera and microphone is also preferred)
  • Be subscribed to Film London STRIDE Network.
  • Have read through the information pack in advance of submitting this application form.

Please note, new entrants are not eligible for this course. It is specifically designed for professionals who are already working in the industry and looking for additional support to navigate and elevate their careers in High-End TV (HETV). We recognise the critical issue of talent retention, which arises from the lack of support for those who have already established themselves in the field. In response, we’ve created this course to provide guidance and development opportunities for those who are further along in their careers, rather than at the beginning.
