Larry Achiampong is a Film London Jarman Award-nominated artist (2021). He recently completed his debut feature film, Wayfinder, which serves as the centrepiece of his first solo exhibition at Turner Contemporary (12 March - 19 June). Wayfinder will go on tour to MK Gallery and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art throughout 2022 and into 2023. It will also have limited theatrical screenings this year in the UK, distributed by LUX.
In 2020 Achiampong was awarded the Stanley Picker fellow and in 2019 received the Paul Hamlyn Artist award in recognition for his practice. With a BA in Mixed Media Art from the University of Westminster and an MA in Sculpture from the Slade School of Fine Art, Achiampong taught on the Royal College of Art’s Photography MA programme from 2016 to 2021. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts) facilitating art policies in the UK and internationally, and holds a place on the board of trustees for Elephant Trust.
