ANIMATOR - Aniboxx Studios
WHAT WE SAY
Jide is a creative force: tenacious, imaginative and highly collaborative. We met him through The New Black Film Collective’s Priscilla Igwe while considering projects for UPstream, and he pitched us a variety of work he was doing in collaboration with others and by himself. The dizzying number of plates he successfully spins is impressive, and the range of work he’s done through Aniboxx is inspiring—from a Mr Men short film to deeply thought out animated worldbuilding in his original projects. He’s the kind of person you know is a delight to work with, and for that reason we have no doubt he’ll go very far.
Jide is Head Animation Producer and founder of Aniboxx studios, initially focused on short animated adverts for corporates (such as Google, Birdseye, PWC, Deloitte and many more). Going viral with the animated Short “Everyone Needs A Hug” for the Mr Men brand, Aniboxx then begun worked with Cartoon Network (and Adult Swim) on animation and content for their flagship shows across 5 main channels.
Jide then began passionately writing his own stories, to give a voice to those from underrepresented backgrounds. Aniboxx worked on a documentary called Spending black, featured on BBC iPlayer in Oct 2021, focused on the power of spending money with Back owned businesses. Since then, Jide and the Aniboxx team have gone on to win a place on the Sony Animation Pictures talent league 2022 to develop his first 2D animated series Family Britannia about a British born Nigerian Big Tech Genius.
Following the series development, Jide collaborated with the Milkshake / Nickelodeon team to write, produce and voice narrate Aniboxx' fīrst in house documentary called "Where are The Smart Black Boys?" which explores the lack of intelligent black males featured in children's content. At the end of 2022, Jide has recently Produced a short movie with Little Dot Studios, set to air on channel 4’s Random Acts platform in the near future. In 2023, Jide was selected (out of hundreds) to take part in Sheffield Doc Fest Future producers School in April 2023 and will be at this years Sheffield Doc Fest, showcasing Aniboxx Documentary slate. More recently working alongside Big Narstie, to produce the first season of The Big Narstie cartoon, Jide and Aniboxx are set for a very exciting 2024.
Aniboxx are now developing their slate of animated shows, features, sports and documentaries. Jide attended Film London Upstream 2023, presenting animated vampires anthology Obayifo, in collaboration with Writer / Director Baff Akoto.
