As we roll into August, we thought it would be remiss of us to leave you waiting for too long to find out what's filming across the capital this month, and where you can see London on screen. This month, a star-studded 70s adaption begins production, while an iconic character returns to a streaming giant for its fourth series.
The fourth series of Ted Lasso hits Apple TV+ today. Audiences around the world will once again step into the instantly recognisable streets of Richmond, a place that has become synonymous with one of television’s most beloved series.
Boxing crime drama Fightland debuts on Sky Atlantic this month. The series follows Howard Charles as Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, a disgraced boxing champion who returns to London to seek vengeance against the crime family he thinks betrayed him. Fightland fomed last year at Eastbrook Studios and across locations in Barking, Dagenham and beyond.
On the filming side of things, The Joy of Sex begins production in London this month, based around how the famous 1970s manual came to be created. Directed by Shaun Maguire (Bridget Jones' Baby), the production features a stacked cast including Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Laura Linney.
