The Sony Pictures x Film London Junior Costume Maker Accelerator is a new programme designed for early-career costume makers looking to develop their careers in the screen industries as Junior Costume Makers. We are looking to support 15 early-career professionals who are keen to upskill and gain experience within a freelance environment.

The programme is fully funded and designed for below-the-line professionals from any costume making backgrounds but must already have basic costume making skills. The programme offers a flexible, supportive space to build skills, gain industry insight and connect with others working across the sector.

Key Programme Dates:

• Assessment Day - Friday 31 July 2026 (11:00am - 3:00pm).
• Online Meet & Greet Session - Wednesday 12 August 2026 at 6:00pm.
• Stand-Out-On-Set Training - Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 August 2026 (10:00am - 6:00pm).
• Programme Training - Starting Tuesday 25 August 2026 and ending Thursday 29 October 2026 (10 weeks in total). Two 3-hour sessions held on Tuesdays & Thursdays (6:00pm - 9:00pm) each week.

Eligibility Requirements:

• You MUST  be over 18 years old.
• You MUST live in either London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent or Surrey.
• Demonstrate clear interest in working in the screen industries.
• Can be from various backgrounds (i.e., film, TV, theatre or other industries) but must provide evidence of relevant engagement on basic costume making skills. Please note this is not a beginner costume making course and will not cover the costume making basics (i.e., sewing, stitching).
• Demonstrate willingness to learn, develop and actively participate in all aspects of the programme.
• Commitment to attend all sessions and engage fully with the programme.
