Rami Malek returns to the big screen in the new action thriller The Amateur out in UK cinemas this week! Malek stars alongside a stellar cast of Rachel Brosnahan, Jon Berthal and Laurence Fishburne as CIA coding expert Charlie Heller. When Heller's wife is killed in a horrific terrorist attack, he takes matters into his own hands and heads into the field, practically untrained, but dead set on avenging his loss. The Amateur filmed on location in the capital at iconic places such as St. Pancras Hotel and Station, the Sky Pool at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms and more so head to the cinemas to check out London on screen in this new espionage adventure!

Up next, we're excited to highlight talent selected as part of the Film London Lodestars cohort for 2025. Last Swim, directed by Lodestar shortlisted rising star Sasha Nathwani is now out in UK cinemas! The debut feature was also produced by Lodestar-shortlisted Campbell Beaton and written by 2025 Writer category winning Lodestar Helen Simmons. With so much Film London-supported talent behind the camera, we're delighted to see Last Swim in cinemas after featuring at the BFI London Film Festival last year. The film shoots across 11 London boroughs, with scenes throughout North London neighbourhoods such as Camden, Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill, as well as Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Following a group of Gen Z teens throughout the capital on a tense A-Level results day, Last Swim is a moving portrait of teen angst in the wake of suffocating lockdowns and online addiction.
