The 78th Cannes Film Festival begins this week, and we are delighted that Film London alumni have projects included in the programme.
Pillion by Harry Lighton is part of the Official Programme, under the Un Certain Regard category. Harry Lighton made successful short Wren Boys with Film London as part of London Calling 2017, and wrote and directed this debut feature based on a book by Adam Mars-Jones.
Film London BFI NETWORK short Just Passing has been officially selected for the Diversity In Cannes Short Film Showcase. While the event takes place in France at the same time as the Cannes Film Festival, the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase is an Independent event and not part of the Official Cannes Film Festival. It is sponsored by Academy Award Winner Viola Davis' and in their own words exists "to encourage underrepresented filmmakers from unique backgrounds telling stories specific to marginalized populations to share their work before a global audience during the Cannes Film Festival.”
Film London will be on the Croissette throughout the festival, flying the flag for the London film industry, and attending the Global Production Awards. Please don’t hesitate to say hello to a member of the team if you spot them at the festival
