FOCUS, the meeting place for the international production community, returns in December for its eighth edition offering a packed programme of meetings, networking and conference sessions.

Taking place from 6 – 7 December at Business Design Centre, London, registration is free. Film London are delighted to host and take part in a range of panels during the event.

Join us on Tuesday 6 December at 4.30pm for No Planet – No Film: celebrating six years of the European 'Green Screen' partnership. Speakers include Zuzana Bieliková, Film Commissioner at Slovak Film Commission and Film London’s Head of Production Services, Michelle Jenkins.

Working across 8 EU regions to improve policies and achieve measurable success in reducing film and TV productions’ carbon footprints, Green Screen project partners share their insights, discuss their achievements, and open up about the challenges faced in our journeys towards sustainability on set.

Also taking place on 6 December, in association with Games London at 5:00pm, Jörg Tittel, Oiffy will host Games Will Save Cinema. At the turn of the century, the film industry was four times the size of games. The reverse is true today. Jörg will talk about how, instead of trying to compete with games, the film industry - especially on the independent and art house side - can work with game talent and tech to make films that matter to new audiences.

On Wednesday 7 December 2022 at 2:00pm Film London’s Sustainability Manager, Laurence Johnson will moderate Sustainable Film: Reducing our Emissions. This session will explore the challenges, new developments and future opportunities, of addressing both air quality and greenhouse gas emissions from the film and TV sector. Bringing together international film agencies, environmental consultants and on-set sustainability professionals, we will find out what the key sources of these damaging emissions are, and what the industry is doing to bring them down.

On a national level, the British Film Commission will host Cross-border Collaboration - a Mission: Impossible Locations Masterclass on 7 December at 1.30pm. Introduced by Adrian Wootton OBE and moderated by British Film Commission’s Head of Production UK, Samantha Perahia MBE, the session will share fascinating insights about working across territories for the blockbuster.
