Distributor Slate Days returned to Picturehouse Central for its eighth edition last week (21-22 September) . Distributor Slate Days is a major industry event for distributors and exhibitors. It takes place annually, building stronger links between distributors and exhibitors and showcasing a range of exciting upcoming theatrical releases.
On day one, attendees were treated to exclusive presentations from across the UK film industry. A total of 28 distributors took part, with slates of upcoming releases and trailers delivered by companies including new participants Anime Limited, Studio Soho, and Talking Drum.
284 exhibitors and distributors and sponsors attended in person at Picturehouse Central, with a further 37 registering for online passes. This is a 73% higher attendance than last year.
Highlights included an exclusive clip of STUDIOCANAL‘s upcoming Cat Person adaptation, based upon the viral New Yorker piece, and 606 Distribution’s delight in sharing the trailer for the eccentric Estonian stop-motion comedy Old Man Movie: Lactopolypse.
The first half of the day was chaired by Film London Chief Executive Adrian Wootton OBSE, who thanked attendees for their unrivalled commitment to cinema: “In the face of adversity, the constant and innovative hard work of our industry has allowed for audiences of all ages from across the UK to continue enjoying the wonder of the silver screen and experience new stories. “
On the second day, exhibitors, sponsors and distributors took over the Picturehouse Central Members' Bar for a day of focused 1:1 meetings to kickstart bookings conversations for the year ahead and foster new working relationships. In total 235 meetings between Film Hub members and distributors took place; both in-person at Picturehouse Central and online.
We would like to thank all who attended across both of the days, whether in person or online, for making Distributor Slate Days 2022 such a success.
