Following the 31st anniversary of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, The Rio Cinema presents a lesser-known Spike Lee Joint, Girl 6. First screened at the Rio in July 1996, it was described as a “free-wheeling comic celebration of a New York City Gal. Girl 6 examines the life of an aspiring actress in New York as she is upset by the treatment of women in the movie industry during one of her screen tests with QT. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Kareyni Davis and Grace Barber-Plentie.
