Applications open for 2018 Games Finance Market and returning Games London Pitch Bootcamp
Date posted: 13.10.2017
The 2018 Games Finance Market - the UK's only event connecting games creators with funders from around the world - is now open for applications from developers, start-ups, investors and publishers.
Games Finance Market (10-12 April 2018)
Running as part of the London Games Festival (5 - 15 April 2018), the Games Finance Market will be open to 60 games companies and 60 investors. Now in its third year, the Market has generated new business deals worth over £30m, cementing London's reputation as a centre of excellence for the global games industry. The Games Finance Market will take place from 10-12 April 2018 and is organised by Games London, a partnership between Film London and Ukie, and is supported by the Mayor of London's London Enterprise Action Panel.
The Games Finance Market is open to games companies who are seeking to pitch a project or business investment to international financiers, publishers and funders. Last year's Market attracted over 50 projects and created follow-on meetings worth a potential £19m in investment.
The deadline for applications is Friday 2 February 2018, with all applications assessed and selected by a panel of games experts to ensure attending businesses are investor-ready and of a high standard. Enquiries and queries can be addressed to Matthew.Charlton@games.london.
Pitch Bootcamp (10-11 January 2018)
The Games Finance Market will be bolstered by Games London's pre-event training programme, the Pitch Bootcamp. The first bootcamp took place in January 2017 and took 27 individuals on an intensive two-day training and business mentoring programme covering games financing, investor engagement and pitching skills. Successful participants qualify for a place at the Games Finance Market - this year three quarters of bootcamp trainees reported follow-on talks with investors worth £7.4m.
Games London's Pitch Bootcamp provides UK games companies with an invaluable package of training and mentoring in the run-up to the Games Finance Market. The Bootcamp covers everything from understanding financial terms and funding in the context of the games sector, through to presenting the perfect pitch, all taught by leading experts and working professionals in the games sector. Spaces are open for 20 people with a cost of £199+VAT per qualifying place.
The 2018 Pitch Bootcamp takes place on 10 and 11 January, is devised by Games London and hosted at the offices of event partner Reed Smith. A full agenda and summary of the content will be released at the end of October. Pitch Bootcamp applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 17 November 2017. Any queries can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
