Premiere Locations launches at the Tower of London
Date posted: 29.09.2015
The Tower of London was abuzz with film industry activity last night, as members of the London Filming Partnership joined location managers, scouts and agents for a networking event at the Tower's impressive Banqueting Suite. The evening also saw the official launch of our new Premiere Locations scheme, a service designed to support and promote London locations and help them capitalise on the capital's reputation as a film-friendly city.
Premiere Locations showcasing London
Premiere Locations is a new and exclusive initiative for London's top filming locations. The service offers an enhanced package designed to give members a platform to access unique industry insight and support, promote their locations and connect with potential business partners and clients.
The Tower on screen
Instantly recognisable, the Tower of London is a popular filming location thanks to its status as an iconic London landmark and its tempestuous 900-year history.
The Tower is managed by Historic Royal Palaces, members of the Premiere Locations scheme. Their sites include Hampton Court Palace, Kew Palace and Kensington Palace, meaning they are familiar with a wide range of filming requests, from documentaries and television programmes to feature films.
Cat Steventon, Media and PR Manager for Historic Royal Palaces said: “Working with organisations such as Film London is essential to help us showcase not only what we have to offer in terms of great locations but also the support they are able to offer us, from useful networking opportunities with peers and those involved in the film industry, to seminars and workshops keeping us abreast of important issues affecting the sector.”
In recent years the Tower itself has featured in films and television shows including Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Muppets Most Wanted, Doctor Who, Britain's Great War and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.
Locations support and networking
The London Filming Partnership is Film London's network of over 350 organisations and agencies working together to make filmmaking in the city as easy and collaborative as possible. Our regular networking events provide partners with the chance to meet one another and connect with representatives from our Locations Crew Diary availability service.
The network includes nearly all the London Borough Film Offices, alongside studios, post production companies, broadcasters and industry bodies as well as organisations including event sponsors Londoneast-UK, the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, The Royal Parks, the National Trust and the Ministry of Defence, along with a wide variety of individual locations such as the evening's host, the Tower of London.
Thank you to Londoneast-UK for sponsoring the event.
