Triple shot: Film London joins forces with Trieste and Rome in TRL Espresso
Date posted: 17.05.2015
A new pan-European partnership called TRL Espresso has been established between our annual Production Finance Market (PFM), Trieste Film Festival's When East Meets West (WEMW) and the New Cinema Network (NCN) at Rome International Film Festival.
"Our Production Finance Market has been connecting international finance and creativity for almost 10 years, and we're always looking for ways to expand and enhance the offer to the financiers we work with," says Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London and the British Film Commission.
"This partnership seeks to do just this by strengthening our international relationships, creating new ones and help us source new projects, particularly those from Eastern Europe."
About TRL Espresso
The partnership will select and fast track a feature film project from delegates pitching at Trieste in January 2016, guaranteeing it a place at both Rome's NCN co-production market and Film London's PFM in October 2016.
This unique initiative will open up opportunities and foster new relationships for producers with exciting original projects budgeted at over €1m. It will also attract a wider pool of talent for WEMW, helping it build upon its strong track record of bridging the gap between Eastern and Western European talent and finance.
To be eligible for TRL Espresso projects must be feature-length (fiction or documentary, in any language) and intended for theatrical release. Prospective features must have at least 20-30% finance in place and be budgeted at over €1m.
