The Community Screen Scheme is back with new partnerships

Date posted: 01.10.2014

Do you have a great idea for a film screening project in your area? Do you know of an underserved community that you could reach through film events? Got a good idea for local movie magic? Whether an established exhibitor or first time organiser, Film London's Community Screen Scheme could help you turn your plans into reality – with grants of £3,000.

New partnerships

Earlier in the year, we awarded 11 projects to put on community screening programmes, three of which partnered with Vue Cinemas.
The scheme has helped bring Gujarati films to Croydon and world cinema to Sydenham.  Projects have celebrated local talent in West Hampstead, transformed a railway arch in Peckham and taken a mixed ability group to the cinema in Dagenham.

This time around, we are expanding the partnership offer to include ODEON and Cineworld cinemas, offering groups the chance to propose activity at the following cinemas:

Vue

ODEON

Cineworld

Wood Green

Putney

Enfield

Croydon Grants

South Woodford

Bexleyheath

Harrow

Streatham

Ilford

Dagenham

Wimbledon

Wembley

Acton

Barnet

Romford

Six of the ten awards will go to projects partnering with one of these cinemas, with the remaining four going to activity at other venues which could include libraries, churches, outdoor spaces, pubs – the possibilities are endless!
