Date posted: 21.01.2013

The UK is well represented at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, showcasing 15 features and eight shorts with British involvement in the official selection and a host of on-screen talent set to appear at the world's premier independent film festival.

At Sundance, the British Film Commission (BFC) and British Consulate-General Los Angeles are joining with the BFI to host a special event to raise the profile of UK films and talent and promote the UK as a world-class filming destination.

"I am delighted to be here at Sundance representing the British Film Commission with my partners and colleagues from the BFI and the British Consulate-General Los Angeles," says Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of the British Film Commission and Film London. "This Festival is brimming with talent and we are here as part of the UK's re-energised International Strategy, to promote the UK as a world-class production centre to ensure we keep attracting the best film-makers to produce films in the UK, as well as helping to showcase British talent featured in the Festival. I am also pleased Sundance will be returning to the UK again in 2013, for a second edition of Sundance London."

UK films showcased in this year's festival include Michael Winterbottom's highly anticipated The Look of Love, starring Steve Coogan as Paul Raymond, the infamous British entrepreneur, impresario, and "king of Soho", which has its World Premiere at Sundance.

On-screen British talent at Sundance 2013 include Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Allen Ginsberg  in John Krokidas'  Kill Your Darlings, Felicity Jones who stars in Drake Doremus' Breathe In and Inbetweeners' star James Buckley who will be seen alongside fellow Brit Rupert Grint in Fredrik Bond's The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.

The UK's documentary film-makers will also take centre stage at the festival, with nine documentaries with UK involvement selected to feature in Sundance's prestigious and highly competitive documentary sections.

The 2013 Sundance Film Festival takes place in Park City, Utah, 17-27 January.
