The Phoenix in north London has reopened after extensive restoration work. Chief Executive Paul Homer shares the ins and outs of revamping one of the oldest cinemas in the capital and plans to celebrate its 100th anniversary, supported by Film London.

Power to the Pixel: The Cross-Media Forum (12-15 October) has announced its line-up of features keynotes for this year's event which includes Mike Monello, co-creator of The Blair Witch Project; Michel Reilhac, Executive Director ARTE France Cinema and Tommy Pallotta, producer, filmmaker and frequent collaborator of Richard Linklater (Before Sunrise).
The BBC Writersroom is hosting a Q&A with writer William Ivory. Ivory will talk about his extensive work for television and his new film, Made in Dagenham. The event is free and will take place at 6pm on 29 September at The Drill Hall. To reserve your space email writersroom.events@bbc.co.uk.
Marketing Movies Online (29 September) is a new one-day conference for film-makers looking to increase their understanding of digital marketing. The event will feature a line-up of industry speakers from the UK Film Council, LOVEFILM and Film4.com, amongst others.
Festivals & Screenings
Vue Entertainment is searching for film 'tweeters' to review the highlights from this year's London Film Festival on behalf of Vue cinemas. Three lucky winners will receive passes to the Festival as well as travel and hotel accommodation.
Muybridge in Kingston is an exhibition and a programme of special events to celebrate the work and legacy of photography and motion picture pioneer Eadweard Muybridge. The free exhibition opens on 18 September a the Kingston Museum & Stanley Picker Gallery.
Tigerlily's season of documentary screenings, Doc Tuesdays, is showing Beautiful Young Minds on 21 September at Rich Mix, followed by a Q&A session with director Morgan Matthews. Beautiful Young Minds follows a group of young British mathematicians competing at the International Mathematical Olympiad.

Film London alumni Destiny Ekaragha is directing the UKFC-funded film adaptation of Bola Agbaje's Olivier award winning play Gone Too Far.
