London Recut: Vote for Your Favourite Vision of London!

Date posted: 17.06.2010

London Recut, from Mosaic Films, in partnership with Film London, the BFI and London's Screen Archives, challenged the capital's citizens to explore, play and recut their city by editing archive film material of the capital into their own short film, sharing a new vision of London.

Now all the entries are in and the resulting films offer a brand new way to experience London. The short films demonstrate there is a wealth of film-making talent across London and range from poetic explorations of the spirit of London to personal stories from the capital's untold history. It is now time for Londoners to choose their favourite.

All entries can be viewed and rated on the London Recut gallery before 9am on Monday 20 June. The 16 films with the highest score will be shortlisted and screened to the London Recut jury - a panel of expert Londoners, including Adrian Wootton, CEO Film London; Munira Mirza, Cultural Advisor to the Mayor of London; Robert Elms from BBC London Radio and Cassetteboy, YouTube's bad boy of remix.

The film-makers behind the four winning films selected by the jury will win the chance to complete their film professionally and see it screened across the capital, premiering at Rushes Soho Shorts on Monday 26 July. The winners will also win a Flip camera.
