London Welcomes the Departure of Ugly Betty

Hit US comedy Ugly Betty draws to a close this week, celebrating the final stages of the protagonist's transformation with a show set amongst some of London's most iconic tourist attractions.
The climactic ending sees a newly sleek and glamorous Betty Suarez say goodbye to her tight-knit family and friends in New York to head to London for an exciting new job as a magazine editor.
In a packed day of filming during the Easter bank holiday, lead actress America Ferrara could be seen racing around scenic locations in the capital, including: Trafalgar Square, the Millennium Bridge in front of St Paul's Cathedral, Leicester Square, Westminster Bridge and Piccadilly Circus.
Facilitated by UK production company Tiger Aspect, the production had initially come to London to shoot some general views of the city. The original idea was to film the majority of the final scenes in a New York studio, but after seeing what London had to offer in terms of locations, the cast and crew were all flown over to complete the series in style.
The final episode of Ugly Betty, 'Hello Goodbye', will air on E4 at 10pm on Wednesday 22 December.
