Date posted: 01.05.2008
Sportswear giant Nike have recently released the full two minute version of an advertising spot for the upcoming UEFA 2008 European Championship.
The 'Take It to The Next Level' commercial is directed by Guy Ritchie and shows a first person journey through several teams and players, including Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wesley Sneijder, Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco Materazzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nani and Arsene Wenger.
The commercial, produced by agency 72andSunny filmed at 'The Den' for three days and three nights during March 2008. Location Manager Eugene Strange said, 'The team at Millwall allowed us to film on the pitch during the football season and use the floodlights during the night shoots. They were very helpful and extremely accommodating to all our needs.'
'The Den' is the home of Millwall F.C. It is situated in Bermondsey, South East London, only 4.3 miles from Central London making it the closest to the city. The stadium has a maximum seating capacity of 20,000. Other features include dressing room space, leisure centre, press lounge and press seats to accommodate 75 people, and a conference and banqueting suite (7,570 sq ft that can be split into 3 smaller suites).
Often appearing in many commercials and TV dramas, the stadium has also previously doubled as 'The Dragons Lair', home ground of Harchester United in the TV series Dream Team.
Mark Cole, Commercial Sales Manager at Millwall added, 'The ground staff are well rehearsed in the requirements of a film crew. We understand the need to be flexible and I think that is why location managers get to know us and keep on coming back.'
