Latin Film Thursdays
Date posted: 24.10.2007
Film Sur launches Latin Film Thursdays on 1 November - an event dedicated to the exclusive screenings of Latin American or Spanish cinema.
London-based Film Sur promotes programmes and distributes independent cinema, with Iberoamerican films as its main focus. The company was set up in 2007 by a team of experienced professionals with a passion for film.
With Latin Film Thursdays recent films from all over Latin America and Spain will be introduced in two of London’s West End main venues, Odeon Covent Garden and Panton St. The screenings will include premieres or other exclusive films that otherwise would not have been accessible to a general audience.
The first event features Silent Light (Luz Silenciosa), winner of the Cannes Jury Prize 2007. Mexican director Carlos Reygadas tells a universal story of adultery, that takes place in an extremely rare setting.
Silent Light will be released across UK cinemas by Tartan Films on 7 December.
Catch screenings on the first Thursday of every month.
