4th Halloween Short Film Festival

Date posted: 09.01.2007

The return of the Halloween Short Film Festival (5 - 14 January) brings London audiences another interesting and eclectic programme.

The debate continues to rage as to what constitutes a ‘short’ film and what defines a ‘quality’ short.

The key to this festival is breaking conventions, getting away from the Hollywood formulas. It also offers a new perspective on film – the final product, the process of production and the presentation.

This year you can enjoy:

  • The UK premiere of Alison Murray’s Mouth To Mouth, starring up and coming Hollywood superstar Ellen Page (Hard Candy).
  • A retrospective from British film-making brothers, Ben and Chris Blaine.
  • Winners of Best Short at last year’s Halloween, visual artistes The Light Surgeons present a retrospective.
  • Soho-based animation company Sherbet present a retrospective of their short film and promo work.

Check out film screenings, Q&As and live music at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), Curzon Soho and Roxy Bar & Screen.
