Written and directed by Academy Award® winner Woody Allen, Match Point represents a departure for the native New Yorker, the majority of whose films lovingly depict his home town. Crossing the Atlantic for the first time in his film career, Allen spent seven weeks filming in and around the capital.
Match Point is a drama about a young man’s rise in society and the terrible consequences of his ambition. Chris (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is torn between two women, and finding no way out, resorts to extreme action. Set amongst the English upper class Nola (Scarlett Johansson) is a beautiful American girl who comes between Chris and his wife Chloe (Emily Mortimer).Tom (Matthew Goode) is Emily’s wealthy brother who initiates the tragic events.
Locations included some of the city's most famous landmarks as well as lesser-known sites in Belgravia, Marylebone, Notting Hill, Chelsea and Covent Garden.
