BBC Film Network Player
Date posted: 14.12.2005
BBC Film Network - the interactive showcase for new British short film-making talent – has now launched a Film London player. Streamed short films from the PULSE and London Production Fund slates can be seen online.
BBC Film Network launched as a trial in January 2005 to promote new British film-makers and has been growing ever since. An ever-expanding library of short films is available online - allowing new film-makers and film fans to view exciting new work, create online profiles and share information with the creative community.
Three new films are featured every week, from traditional drama and documentaries to cutting edge animation and music promos, adding to a growing catalogue showcasing the work of the UK’s best new film talent.
The site launched in collaboration with the UK Film Council. Since then, Film Network has developed links with a large range of partners from within the industry. The BBC are currently working with short distributors Dazzle, Short Circuit and onedotzero, organisations like the British Council and Shooting People and events such as Brief Encounters and the London Film Festival – where the new improved Film Network site was launched.
Film London is the latest addition to this partnership and we’re pleased to announce that a selection of short films funded through our production schemes can be seen online through the BBC Film Network. It is now possible to instantly access the quirky delights of Déva Palmier’s Fishy and the animated antics of Dan Chamber’s Tube Mice, among many others.
