Africa at the Pictures
Date posted: 06.12.2004
Africa at the Pictures presents a selection of cinema from leading South African film-makers in Project 10 – Real Stories from a Free South Africa. These films are directed by established and emerging film-makers and explore the concepts and notion of freedom. Each film was shot in a year and although there are variations in subject matter and approach, each motivates with a compelling story of unique experiences of those living in a country in transition.
Project 10 was devised as an initiative to develop a new generation of South African filmmakers brave enough to take risks and able to recognise the power of their own voices in a free society. The films that will be screened in this Festival are sure to provoke and enlighten and inspire.
