Film London's Availability Service for Location Managers (ASLM) is an exclusive annual membership scheme for location managers, scouts, assistant location managers; unit managers and location assistants.

This long-running and successful service connects location department crew to production teams that are in London, or planning to come to the capital. It is the strength of the relationships developed over time between the ASLM members and the team at Film London that has allowed for such a successful dialogue with incoming productions considering London and the South East.

Members submit CVs and register their details through the Film London Directory, and, in turn, Film London recommends relevant candidates for incoming jobs - ranging from short films, pop promos, commercials, documentaries and stills, through to TV and feature film projects.

In addition to the diary service that we operate - members receive other benefits that include:, the opportunity to use desk space in our office (including WiFi access); information regarding locations news, via an ASLM email distribution list; and automatic subscription to the weekly Film London email newsletter.

Film London's Availability Service for Location Managers also provides:

• Priority inclusion in our 'Pool of Location Managers' - an assigned subset of crew, paid for by Film London, who works with international productions to help persuade them they can achieve their shoot here in London and the South East. The service may include a budget breakdown; initial location research and recce of locations.
• Quarterly networking events at Film London - consisting of informal evenings open not only to members of the ASLM, but to representatives from London's boroughs and other notable organisations and agencies across the region. There are always key speakers of interest, as well as a representative from the British Film Commission to give an overview of productions coming to London.
• Exclusive access to our online quarterly locations newsletter - featuring new and re-discovered locations, as well as a focus on a particular theme as influenced by enquires the team receives, which can be anything from Sport & Leisure to Transport or Industrial locations. The newsletter provides invaluable information and contacts vital to those working in the industry.
• Opportunities to participate as part of an industry panel at key forums that we organise, such as the Costs Forum and Heritage Forum.

We operate a tiered membership system with a sliding scale of subscription fees, as follows:

• Availability Service for Location Managers
  Only £60 +VAT
• Availability Service for Members of The Guild of Location Managers
  Only £50 +VAT - proof of membership is required
• Availability Service for Junior Members
  Only £40 +VAT - for those people who have only been working in locations for a year
