'Raining Time' is Vodafone's latest commercial and is currently being screened in cinemas nationwide. Marylebone Station was extensively used during the shoot, amongst other key London locations.

The Vodafone advert, promoting mobile internet, seamlessly combines 35mm film and 3D animation. Simon Ratigan of HLA directed the shoot which was filmed over three days in London.

With voiceover provided by Dame Judi Dench the commercial begins with commuters waiting on the platform of Marylebone Station where they are suddenly rained on by tiny cogs, watch faces and hands, screws and straps. The action continues at various locations as people shelter from the increasingly heavy shower of 'time' accompanied by the song 'Little April Showers' from the Disney movie, Bambi.

The location manager, Steve Hart, worked with Donald Wilson, Communications Manager at Marylebone Station, to achieve the scene on a crowded commuter platform. Steve comments, 'The people at Marylebone Station were really helpful, I've worked with them a lot before and they are always very accommodating.'

Opened in 1899, Marylebone was the last mainline terminus to be built in London. Modest in scale, simple and unpretentious, Marylebone is primarily a commuter station and therefore has great potential for film-makers. Nearby Paddington Recreational Ground was also used to shoot a scene with a boy sat on his football as it begins to rain.

Other productions to have filmed at the train station include A Hard Day's Night; Separate Lies; Magnum PI; Spooks and The Ipcress File.
