The KinoVan is a mobile cinema showing films from across London, inspired by travelling cinema vans of the 1920s.
We also reveal the hidden stories behind the films, including memories from the original filmmakers or their families.

In 2018, the KinoVan travelled around London as part of the Courage and Communities project, celebrating the suffrage movement across the capital. As part of the Mayor’s #behindeverygreatcity campaign and generously funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project involved a host of exciting London cultural organisations and a diverse programme of events. The project commemorated The Representation of the People Act 1918, which gave some women the vote for the first time. London was at the forefront of the historic suffragette movement, helping to change equality, rights and citizenship for women around the world.
KinoVan events for 2019 will be announced soon.

“Like a Tardis on wheels, we are giving people the chance to time travel: to stand in front of the screen and see the past hundred years reel before their eyes.”
Adrian Wootton, Film London CEO
Film London was extremely proud to be a part of the festival, from delivering the Production Finance Market and supporting the Mayor of London's Gala, to showcasing new shorts from upcoming filmmakers and seeing so many of our alumni involved across the programme.
