The sporting and cultural events during the summer of 2012 will mean that, temporarily, some areas and locations will not be available for filming.

The sporting events during the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be concentrating in three areas in the capital:
- The Olympic Park - Stratford, East London
- Central Zone - Royal Parks, Buckingham Palace, Whitehall
- River Zone - Canary Wharf, Greenwich and the North Greenwich arena

Main Areas affected by the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012
London hosts large cultural events every year and in 2012, special Olympic events will also take place in the capital. Events likely to affect the look of the capital and temporarily restrict some activity during the summer of 2012 include:
- The Cultural Olympiad – a four-year celebration including dance, music, theatre and film event across the whole of the UK. For more information visit the Cultural Olympiad's website.
- London 2012 Festival (21 June - 9 September) – the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad - with hundreds of ticketed and free events to compliment the Olympic and Paralympic games. For more information visit the Festival's website.
- Diamond Jubilee Weekend (2 - 5 June, with Bank Holidays on 4 and 5 June) – including a flotilla of 1,000 boats traveling down the Thames. For additional details about the Jubilee Weekend events visit the official website. Please note that during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on 3 June, piers, riverside roads and bridges will be closed to traffic and there will be up to 50 big screens distributed along the route. - World Pride Day (7 July) – taking place in central London. Visit the oficial Pride London website for more information.
- Big Dance (7-15 July) – biennial festival showcasing the diversity of dance styles in the capital through hundreds of events. For more information visit the Big Dance website.
- Olympic Torch Relay – the Olympic Flame arrives in the UK on 18 May 2012 before it begins a 70-day journey around the country. The Torch will arrive in London on 21 July for a seven-day journey across the city, starting in Greenwich and finishing at the Olympic Stadium on 27 July.
