Image of The Golden Salamander boat takes the tour group along on The River Thames

Renowned for their innovative Group Tours on the Thames, the company with the largest fleet of up market cruising boats have come up with another winner!

  • Hollywood on the Thames
The Thames Luxury Charter Group presents 'Hollywood on Thames' - a celebration of film and TV locations in, on and around the Thames.

The script has been put together by one of London's leading film location managers and is voiced by leading actor, Jon Strickland (Casualty, Heartbeat). The whole event takes place more often than not on the 'Golden Salamander' - a cruising riverboat that has played host to eight individual episodes of the long running TV series The Bill, as well as numerous other film and TV productions.

The starting point is Butlers Wharf Pier, right by the Pont de la Tour restaurant, next to Tower Bridge. As you walk to the boat you will pass through the historic cobbled streets of Shad Thames where the ghost of John Hurt in The Elephant Man still lurks and Bridget Jones had a fling back in her first film.

The tour takes in all the sights and scenes on the South Bank, travelling down to the MI5 building at Vauxhall, before embarking on the return journey and the second leg of the commentary. This route covers the same part of the Thames as shown in the iconic opening sequence of infamous Bond feature The World Is Not Enough.

Be one of the first to experience this fascinating insight into how the Thames has caught the imagination of film-makers from John Huston to Woody Allen.

Embarks from Butlers Wharf Pier 12-3pm and 2.30-5.30pm. Groups of 20+ can choose their own date and groups of 49+ can have an exclusive onboard event. Individuals may also book - a list of available dates will be supplied on request.
