Portobello Film Festival 2010
Date: 02 September - 19
The Portobello Film Festival, one of the biggest independent film festivals in Europe, was established in 1996 in response to the stagnant state of the British film industry - to create a space for emerging film-makers to showcase their works outside the mainstream.
In celebration of its 15th anniversary, over 700 films - ranging from independent, low and no budget shorts, international to rock and roll - will be shown for the very first time in different venues all over the city. A unique opportunity will be given to attendees to access free events and see films from up and coming film-makers.
European films such as Jean Luc-Godard's A bout de Souffle as well as films from Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, Turkey and Holland will be featured as a part of this year's programme.
Where: Westbourne Studios, Inn on the Green, The Tabernacle, The Muse Gallery and The Castle
Cost: Free Admission to all events
